Award-winning local developer Chard Robinson today announced the imminent start on-site of a new residential development in Humberstone Road, Cambridge.

The development – for which planning permission has been granted – involves the construction of four 4-storey executive family homes built in a traditional Victorian style to complement the architecture of neighbouring De Freville properties – but with a modern twist to provide for future-proof living.

Built on the site adjoining Chard Robinson’s The Newton – which was awarded the title Best Residential Development in Cambridgeshire at the UK Property Awards in 2014 – the new houses will feature Victorian stone bays to the front and a contemporary glass and stone elevation to the rear, four bedrooms and basement home cinemas, home automation systems and off-street parking.

Formerly the car park to the Fleur De Lys Public House, the site falls within the historic De Freville Conservation area. Construction is due to commence in 2015, with expected completion early 2016.
